Wizard Rock @ the Library: Ramble on…

I know, we talked about this before, but it is still really exciting to have our second rock concert of the year on Friday, May 4th! Wizard Rock uses the world of Harry Potter for it’s inspiration. Believe it or not, while Wizard Rock might be the most widespread rock movement based on a series of books, it is not the first.
Led Zeppelin often used literary references in their music, notably imagery from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. One of my favorite Zep songs, Ramble On, is a perfect example:
Mines a tale that cant be told,
My freedom I hold dear;
How years ago in days of old
When magic filled the air,
Twas in the darkest depths of Mordor
I met a girl so fair,
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up
And slipped away with her.

Thanks to everyone who attended our first-ever rock show at the library! It was great to see so many new faces in the Teen room. A special thanks to the adults who helped set up the equipment and serve refreshments! We had so much fun, we have already scheduled our next concert for early May (see Wizard Rock @ the Library above!)
