Faster, Higher, Stronger

Despite the recent civil unrest in Tibet, the Olympics are going on as planned, beginning on 08/08/08. This summer’s reading game theme will reflect the Olympic spirit, and is titled Faster, Higher, Stronger (which is, by the way, the official Olympic motto.)

So, what does that mean, exactly? Well, we aren’t giving anything away yet, but you can be sure that sports books and a certain boy demigod will be involved…

In the meantime, prove that you are Faster - sign up for our Dance Dance Revolution Tournament during Spring Break. As always, you compete for your highest personal score and win honor, glory, prizes, and possibly the ever-popular ceramic bunny!

There are traps and challenges at every turn, and you’ll need to use your wits to get to the mountain on time. When you finally get to the summit, you’ll get to climb a rock wall.

Registration begins on March 3rd. Sign up early for this exciting, one-of-a-kind event!

No Freebird!!!

ghiii.jpg

The Teen Services department is holding it’s first-ever Guitar Hero tournament on Thursday, February 21 from 2 to 5 PM. Are you ready?

How it will work:

This ages 12-18 tourney will have brackets for Medium, Hard and Expert play. We will use Guitar Hero III (which is why there is no Freebird!)

There will be prizes for winning each bracket, a grand prize for the overall winner, and a special prize for best moves.

Songs will be chosen at random for the first two levels of each bracket. We will then move to a player’s choice stage.

Sign up now, as due to bracket restrictions, spaces are limited!

We will have a practice session on the Wednesday before the tournament, and doors will open at 1 PM. Get there early to choose your bracket! If your chosen bracket fills up before you get there, you might have to play at a different level than the one you had planned on!
